Walk A Mile In My Shoes

Hi and welcome to my place on the web. My name is Jochen Mählmann. Since I was 8 I'm in a wheelchair. The reason for this is a disease called Duchenne muscular dystrophy. I built this website to show that people with this severe disease also can have a enjoyable life with lots of fun and great experiences beside all the problems.

Another aim is to reach that any inhibitions against people with disabilities will be oververcome. I want people to see that we are just "normal" human beings with the same feelings, desires and needs like everyone else.

Here you'll find links to muscular dystrophy organisations around the world, to helpful pages for people with disabilities and personal websites.
At the Travel Gallery you will find lots of pictures from my travels. Please leave a message in my guestbook or send me an e-mail

...Oh, they told you life is hard
Misery from the start,
it's dull, it's slow, it's painful
But I tell you life is sweet
In spite of the misery
There's so much more,
be grateful...
